The English Tradition in Design by John Gloag
King Penguin number K34. First edition, published October 1947.
No dustwrapper (as published). [Note: the first editions of King Penguins up to K46 (1948) did not have dustwrappers. When (if) they were reprinted after 1948 they had wrappers.]
Covers and spine clean, but the bright blue and green colours (there is an indication near the spine of what it should be) have faded to pale yellow and grey. (This seems to be true of many of the copies currently for sale online.)
Pages and plates clean. This has one the longer texts and more plates (albeit black and white) then most King Penguins.
There is an incredibly faded Christmas inscription (too faint to photograph) inside the front cover.
The photographs form part of this description.
